When the nutrition specialist mentions some food as “healthy”, we breathe a sigh of relief. They consider in regards to the percentage of carbohydrate, protein, fat and some micronutrients. But, all the foods and its ingredients are not healthy when they are used in different forms. So-called “health” foods are not so healthy when they are taken at their other ways. They should worth ditching.

Fruit juices and Smoothies

A glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and a glass of green smoothie seems to be the great combination of food that gives a huge benefit to your health. These seem to be the great nutrition boosters. You will get huge vitamins, minerals, sugar item for getting energy and so on.

On the other hand, you are taking green smoothie which seems to be more helpful to get other nutrients and antioxidants for leading a healthy life.

If you consider deeply, you will see that when you are taking an orange or two, you will get a particular amount of sugar in it. When you are taking a glass of juice, you are taking an excessive amount of sugar in your body.
The smoothie also loses all its fibre contents helpful for maintaining the health of GI tract.


Granola is a great item for breakfast and tastes good. However, there are different items are present in it; the percentage of protein remains lower. This contains the high amount of healthy fats but contains the high amount of sugar that is harmful to your health. According to New York Times, more than 70% of the nutritionists consider granola is not healthy.

Fat-free or low-fat anything

Most of the time, people prefer to take fat-free or low-fat milk and other ingredients. It sounds healthy to take fat-free ingredients. But, when natural fat is omitted, the food item becomes tasteless. The food processing or manufacturing company adds sugar and other ingredients to enhance the taste, which is really harmful. Intake of 10 per cent of calories from the everyday food should be reduced.

Almond milk

Most people consider that almond milk is the best substitute for cow’s milk. The milk contains low protein and added vitamins and minerals. This contains preservation ingredients, and manmade vitamins the base of which is generic, not natural.

Besides, the regular dairy milk is full of vitamins like A and B12, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and riboflavin. What nature gives you is best for you, not manmade alternatives unless you are a strict vegan.

Dried fruit

The dried fruit obviously gives you high fibre, antioxidants, and calories. The matter of fact is that the high sugar amount is condensed to most of the dried fruits. But, when they are dried, you can take a lot of them- it matters most. Probably, you cannot remember when was the last time to take five apricots in a row? You can take more than that when they are dried.

Agave nectar

Some people consider it is better to take agave nectar in place of honey. This is also less viscous and high sweetener. It is suggested as it is low-glycaemic index. You have to keep in mind that agave contains a high amount of glucose and fructose. Fructose is responsible heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and cancer.
Finally, you should keep in mind about all these factors. We know there are huge health benefits to some foods, but you have to consider in which state you are taking and the amount of it!
